SUMMARY The objective of the present work is to evaluate the initial Pinus taeda L. growth under diverse N, P, and K fertilizations on deep red soils in NE Corrientes. It is undertaken under an factorial design divided in complete randomized blocks, with the application of: N, 0, 22,5 and 45 g.pl-1; P2O5, 0, 45 and 90 g.pl -1 ; and K2O, 0, 36 and 72 g.pl-1. The growth has been evaluated measuring diameter, medium height and medium tree volume (form coefficient 0,5) and the economic efficiency, at the different treatments. At 34 month of age, highly significative differences in DBH, medium height and medium tree volume have been detected in the nitrogen and phosphorus treatments. There has been no response to potassium. The addition of nitrogen has been linked negatively to growth, contrarily to phosphorus that has positive responses.
