Epodo XVII de Horacio: Lyra mendax vs efficax scientia

This article analyzes successive rhetoric strategies in order to show that the fiction bringing face to face a bewitched male and the witch Canidia, makes evident a conflict of powers being between the art of written word -male opponent-, and that of magic -female opponent.
