Preface We have a great honour to edit this special issue of Procedia SBS Journal. The articles in this issue have been selected from the papers presented in the Third International Geography Symposium held from 10th to 13rd June, 2013 in Kemer (Antalya), Turkey. More than 350 contributions from 50 countries on 5 continents were presented in the Symposium. It really makes this event an international symposium. A total of 92 full papers have been selected for publication in Procedia. This issue covers the papers in variety of topics such as; population, migration, enterprise location, landscape change, Turkomans, land resources, ethnic minorities, geographical elements in country flags, Mediterranean coasts, ecological literacy education, ecogeography of Kaz Mountains, medieval settlements, demographic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, land consolidation, agro climatic zones in India, sports tourism, disaster management, real estate market, geography illiteracy, forced migration, geoeconomic situation in the Turkic-speaking countries in Central Asia, flood risk, urban environment and sustainable development, monumental trees, precipitation and climate change, geomorphology and environment, earthquake hazard, avalanche susceptibility, forest fires, gum Arabic, natural and human induced hazards, human-environment interactions. We thank all the authors for sending their works to this symposium. We hope that this Symposium serves as an important contribution to further advancement in geography and related fields. Hopefully this symposium will inspire and encourage more academics to participate in our forthcoming meetings. We would like to express our gratitude to Prof. Dr. Mehmet Füzün, the rector of Dokuz Eylul University, for his support and hosting this meeting.
