Elementos de la etnogénesis cultural guaiquerí

The present work analysesthe process of ethnogenesis,ethnic persistence and the culturalresurgence of an ethnic group knownin Venezuelan historiography asthe Guaiqueries who, since pre-Columbian times, have inhabitedthe mainland region of northeasternVenezuela as well as on the islandsof Margarita, Coche and Cubaguathat together make up the State ofNueva Esparta.Key words: cultural ethnogenesis,Guaiqueri, Margarita Island,Venezuela.
