El registro funerario cardial valenciano: dataciones radiocarbónicas

Cardial funerary record: Radiocarbon dates. This paper reviews the available direct radiocarbon dates on human bone for the Valencian region between the Late Palaeolithic and the Middle Neolithic. Its aim is to use these dates to better understand the early Neolithic inhumation ritual between the rivers Xúquer and Vinalopó. The geographical situation of the archaeological sites with human remains and cardial pottery suggests the presence of different cardial communities that occupy the territory in an organized manner. When looking at it all together, the Valencian archaeological sequence shows coincidences between changes in burial location types and the apparition/collapse of cardial communities.
