LA FRIABILIDAD DE LA SAL EN EL HORIZONTE ARQUEOLÓGICO.

RESUMEN:
Tratar de inferir, en el registro arqueológico, la presencia de la sal, el
"oro blanco" de la Antigüedad, resulta prácticamente inviable. A pesar de
la importancia capital de este alimento y de las estructuras de su
producción constatadas en los textos clásicos, sólo podemos confirmar su
existencia a través de ciertos elementos indirectos presentes en el
registro arqueológico. Analizaremos, por tanto, los diferentes testimonios
arqueológicos que permiten rastrear la presencia de una de las
producciones más efímeras de la Antigüedad.
ABSTRACT:
Trying to infer in archaeological levels the presence of salt, the "white
gold" in Ancient time, is in a practical way almost impossible. In spite of
the importance of this supply, as well as its structures of production
present in classical texts, we can only confirm its existence by analyzing
some indirect items, usually found in archeological contexts. Therefore, in
this paper we analyze the different archaeological testimonies that allow
us to conclude the presence of one of the most ephemeral productions in
Ancient times.
