SUMMARYThis work has as its objective the elaboration of a short scale for the evaluation of schizophrenia. To this end we have utilized a classic psychological instrument the M.M.P.I. Specifically, we have used the items that form the scales of Paranoia and Schizophrenia. Once performing the pertinent analysis with de 111 items that form both scales, we have obtained and abbreviated scale consisting of 26 items. With this abbreviated scale we have conducted analysis to prove the discri­minant power of its total score, and also analysis destined to the cal­culation of this reliability and validity.RESUMENEste trabajo tiene por objeto la elaboración de una escala breve para la evaluación de la esquizofrenia. Para ello hemos partido de un ins­trumento clásico en Psicología el Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (M.M .P.I.). Concretamente hemos utilizado los ítems que forman las escalas de Paranoia y Esquizofrenia del M.M.P.I. Una vez realizados los análisis pertinentes con los 111 ítems que forman ambas escalas, hemos obtenido una escala abreviada formada por 26 ítems. Con esta escala abreviada hemos realizado análisis para comprobar el poder discriminativo de su puntuación total, y también análisis des­tinados al cálculo de su fiabilidad y validez.
