El mar y las islas de la costa peruana en el mundo prehispánico: una aproximación bibliográfica al tema

El autor efectúa una revisión bibliográfica de aquellos trabajos que han tratado acerca de la vinculación que tuvo el antiguo poblador peruano con el mar y las islas de la costa, como elementos importantes en la cosmovisión andina, vinculados a los mitos de creación, así como fuente para la obtención de recursos, principalmente el guano de las islas, así como su relación con la navegación y rutas de comercio que probablemente existieron en tiempos prehispánicos. Para ello, se ha recurrido a los relatos de los cronistas del siglo XVI así como a investigadores del siglo XIX y contemporáneos, cuyos trabajos han comprendido aspectos que van desde la mitología, la explotación de recursos, hasta el hallazgo de patrimonio histórico arqueológico en las islas del litoral peruano. The author make a bibliographical review of those works that have dealt with the relationship between the pre-Hispanic inhabitants with the sea and the islands of the coast, as important elements in the Andean world, linked to the creation myths and source for obtaining resources, mainly the guano of the islands, and their relationship with navigation and trade routes that probably existed in pre-Hispanic times. To do this, he have reviewed the narrations of the chroniclers of the sixteenth century and the works of the nineteenth century and contemporary researchers, whose works has included aspects ranging from mythology, exploitation of resources to the discovery of archaeological heritage in the islands of the Peruvian coast.
