Descripción

Jean-Yves Lacoste’s phenomenology facesHeidegger’s alternative: on the one hand theDasein lives his being-in-the-world under theform of “preoccupation”, on the other handthe “mortal” lives facing the divines under thesign of serenity. Lacoste wants to explain “liturgy”,mode of being of whom is not comfortablewith none of these options, and decidesto live facing an Absolute transcendence.I will try to show in this work that Lacoste’scritique is founded on a differentiatedreading of Augustine. On the first place I willdescribe the heideggerian grounds on whichLacoste’s phenomenology is situated. On thesecond place I will explain the augustiniannotions of inquietudo cordis, eschaton andmemoria Dei, and their relation to Heidegger and Lacoste. At last I will point out the similaritiesand differences between both philosophers.
