El cuerpo de Stelarc: Cómo la tecnología humaniza para un artista contemporáneo

ResumenLa contemporaneidad le exige a las personas sumergidas en ellaque respondan frente a los desarrollos avasallantes que ésta implica,incluyendo los tecnológicos. Una posible respuesta subjetivaes la advertencia de que el organismo biológico está obsoleto y senecesita construir un nuevo cuerpo, lo cual se puede realizar dediferentes maneras. A través de dos entrevistas realizadas al artistacontemporáneo Stelarc, donde ofrece un comentario sobre susobras, se precisó la conceptualización del cuerpo y del humano quesostiene. Empleando un método hermenéutico-dialéctico, se obtuvocomo resultado que el cuerpo stelarquiano implica una alteridada la cual ofrecerlo para que se pueda establecer un lazo social,permitiendo la construcción subjetiva. La tecnología le permite hacerseun cuerpo propio, ofreciendo el organismo al arte, incluyendola distribución de agencias, y logrando la humanidad.AbstractSTELARC’S BODY: HOW TECHNOLOGY HUMANIZES FOR ACONTEMPORARY ARTISTContemporary times demand people submerged in its culture toface the steamrolling developments that it implies, including thetechnological ones. Being aware that one’s biological organism isobsolete and that the construction of a new body is necessary, andcan be done in different ways, is only one of the possible subjectiveanswers to this. Through two interviews that were done to acontemporary artist, Sterlac, in which he offers commentary on hisworks, his conceptualization of the body and of the human that itsustains was extracted. Using a hermeneutic-dialectical method, itwas obtained that the Sterlarkian body implies an alterity to whichone can offer it so that a social link can be made, allowing for theconstruction of the subject. Technology allows him to make a bodyhe can call his own, offering his organism to art, which includes thedistribution of agencies, and achieving humanity.
