EL ARTE MONUMENTAL COMO HERRAMIENTA DE CONCIENCIACIÓN: EL CASO DE SOBIBOR Y SACHSENHAUSEN

La memoria, la historia y el olvido participan de un horizonte común: aquél en el que se inscribe la pregunta por la representación del pasado, o bien, la representación presente de una cosa ausente. La armonía entre la memoria y el olvido permite vitalizar el recuerdo pasado, hacerlo propio y convertirlo en fermento para el desarrollo de la nueva vida. Por ello, nuestra comunicación gira en torno a la reflexión sobre el horror que supone el olvido y la necesidad de la conservación y difusión de los campos de concentración como una forma de arte monumental que representa de una realidad doliente. Memory, history, and the forgotten take part of a common horizon: that in which it is found the question of the representation of the past, or better yet, present representation of something missing. The harmony between the memory and the forgotten allows revitalize the memory of the past, make it your own, and make it ferment to the development of a new life. Because of that, our communication revolves around the reflection about the horror that suppose the oblivion and the necessity of the conservation and diffusion of the concentration camps as a form of monumental art that represents painful reality.
