El arte del ritual y la ritualidad del arte. Estética y poder en la religión afrobrasileña del Candomblé

Resumen: En los ritos del Candomblé, la producción de imágenes y la construcción de significado (re)piensan el sistema religioso en su práctica cultural. De este modo, el conocimiento se vuelve más abierto a las cuestiones de la percepción sensible, las maneras de ver y sentir. Aquí, la estética de las imágenes producidas conforman una expresión velada de la palabra que permite transmitir creencias de difícil o peligrosa verbalización y convertirse en una fuerza de comunicación creativa que las palabras no pueden alcanzar. A través de la belleza, la fuerza y el conocimiento se unen a la fantasía, la creatividad y la exuberancia para alcanzar el poder. En los rituales del Candomblé no hay poder si no hay belleza. Abstract: In the rituals of the Candomlé, the production of images and the construction of meaning (re)think the religious system in its cultural practice. In this way, knowledge is becomes more open to the questions sensible perception and manners of living and feeling. Here, the produced images' aesthetic shapes a veiled expression of the word that allows beliefs, whose verbalization is difficult or dangerous, to be transmitted and which are converted into a creative communicative force that words cannot attain. It is through beauty that strength and knowledge are united in fantasy, creativity and the exuberance of obtaining power. In the rituals of the Candomblé, there is no power without beauty.
