Efecto de la migración internacional México-Estados Unidos: hogares con vínculos migratorios y su caracterización en cada país

Resumen: Este artículo tiene como objetivo construir y caracterizar tipologías de hogares con vínculos migratorios: cinco tipos en Estados Unidos y tres en territorio mexicano. Estas tipologías contribuyen a probar tres hipótesis planteadas en torno a los recientes flujos y volúmenes de migrantes entre ambos países: i) los hogares con vínculos migratorios en México han aumentado presumiblemente debido a la migración de retorno, sea ésta voluntaria o forzada; ii) los hogares con vínculos migratorios en México y en Estados Unidos cuentan con una mayor presencia de jefatura femenina; iii) presumiblemente, se han incrementado los hogares con vínculos migratorios en Estados Unidos debido a la política de cierre y militarización de fronteras, que ha forzado a muchos mexicanos a permanecer en ese país. Abstract: This article aims to build and characterize types of households with migratory links: five types in the United States and three for Mexico. Through this construction it is possible to test three hypotheses about recent flows and volumes of migrants between the two countries: i) households with migratory ties in Mexico have increased presumably due to return migration, whether voluntary or enforced ; ii) households with migratory ties in Mexico and the United States have a greater presence of female-headed; iii) presumably migrant households with ties in the United States have increased due to the closure policy and militarization of borders that has forced them so stay permanently in the country.
