The " Beloved Disciple " is still unnamed, although the search for his identity has elicited a row of hypotheses. He introduces himself as both a passive eyewitness and an active author who produced a permanent narrative that is able to arouse faith. This paper aims at showing that just as Moses is the writing of the Creation Logos, the disciple is the writing of the incarnate Logos, who beyond the conflagration of the cross begets a new Creation. The appearance of violence is an essential component.
