The concept of amount of substance and his unit (mole), are essential elements in the teaching of chemistry, but his controversial creation as a new unit of measure, its mathematization in teaching it and wrong educational tools used by teachers, exists usually a misconception amount of substance and the mole unit. In this direction we conducted a literature research of this problem and propose strategies that will help teachers to solve this problem, such as the cycle of experiential learning, meaningful learning and didactic transposition.
