Diacronía de la cerámica de época romana altoimperial en los castros del occidente asturiano

We analyze the evolution of Roman pottery along the Early-Imperial levels of the hillforts from Western Asturias, proposing two basic stages that coincide approximately with the first and second centuries AD. The first stage is associated to a strongly militarized context and characterized by sharp stylistic contrasts, derived from the coexistence of local Iron-age forms alongside genuinely Roman imports. The second Century witnessed the development of a new pottery industry from the dialogue between both traditions, which came to attain remarkable levels of standardization and regional diffusion.
