This research had the goal of determining de quantity of carbon absorbed on trees of the species Tectona grandis through a densitometry analysis. The sample consisted of five discs obtained from five different individuals from Fundo La Génova (Chanchamayo). These discs were used to obtain the areas of each of the growth rings and the samples were prepared for an X-ray densitometry test. The carbon biomass was found relating the ring area with the density values obtained.As a conclusion the method applied was proved as effective for the determination of carbon biomass in growth rings for the species Tectona grandis. In turn a significant difference in carbon biomass was observed among the 5 discs. Lower carbon concentrations were found in rings belonging to the juvenile phase.
