Descripción

Objetive. To ascertain the capacity of organic matter decomposition by bacterial strains isolated from the Ciénaga de las Quintas. Method. Population: water. Three (3) mixes samples were taken consisting of fifteen (15) subsamples chosen by convenience. Biochemical identification was made by conventional batteries. Organic matter degradation was performed by BDO5. Determination of temperature and pH at the time of sampling was also made. Results. Isolated Bacteria included: Burkhodelia cepacia (C1), Pseudomonas alcalígenes (C2) y Pseudomonas aeruginosa (C3). Results demonstrated that bacteria had similar behavior in each zone and they were effective to degrade organicmatter. In Z1, C1 had a 86.22% of degradation capacity; C2 86.35%; and C3 86.83%. In Z2, C1 98.93%; C2 85.87%; and C3 86.98%. In Z3, C1 87.47%; C2 79.98%; and C3 87.86%. Conclusion. Results allowed to know the microbiological demeanor in this water body according to bacterial growth of Pseudomonas spp. Regarding to this, presence of these microorganisms were proven, being Z3 the highest in microbial proliferation. This data was expected because of the pollution conditions in every zone.
