In this paper I explore the multiple dimensions of Qom/Toba hermeneutics about the disease suffered by the main leader of the Iglesia Cuadrangular (Four Square Gospel Church) located in Misión Tacaaglé colony in Formosa Province (Argentina). In this sense I witnessed in the field the emergence of what may be labelled shamanic and evangelical interpretations of the pastor's illness, which displayed a rich and complex collection of cultural symbols associated with Qom cosmology and ontology within which shamanic and Christian traditions articulate in a cultural space of tension, contradiction, and socio-political competence.
