Contemplar la belleza, sentenciar por las palabras: juegos de seducción en el Juicio a las diosas de Luciano

Lucian’s Judgement of the Goddesses is a dialogue associated with the series of dialogi minores known as Dialogues of Gods because of its mythological content. Nevertheless, despite of its thematic proximity to them, the specific weight in this work of some lexical and formal elements, such as its length or the combination and integration of rhetorical components, all of them focused on intensifying the development of a more complex narrative dramatic action than what is usual in a minor dialogue, makes it reasonable to consider the Judgement of the Goddesses as an independent dialogue, similarly to other works by Lucian which are also starred by gods. The aim of this paper is to analyse some compositional elements and structural features that support this hypothesis.
