Construcciones de \"entrar\" y \"salir\" y sus equivalentes en alemán

Taking as a starting point Talmy’s theory of lexicalization patterns (1985, 2000), this paper explores the constructions of the Spanish verbs entrar y salir and those of their German equivalents. The analysis is based on the use of the verbs entrar and salir in a sample of narratives from the ARTHUS corpus and on the corresponding constructions registered in the published German translation of these Spanish texts. The results allow us to define the specific characteristics of different construction patterns preferred by each language, and to identify the most relevant aspects in the contrast between Spanish and German in the coding of motion events.
