Comparación de Patrones Electroforéticos de Proteínas e Isoenzimas en Tubérculos Sanos y con Síntomas de Punta Morada de Siete Variedades de Papa (Solanum tuberosum L.)

The possible difference in occurrence and concentration of some biochemical components in healthy potato (Solanum tuberosum) tubers, and in those affected with potato purple top (PPT) were investigated. Protein electrophoretic patterns of total proteins were determined and compared, revealing low molecular weight proteins, and isozymes esterases, catalases and peroxidases. The results obtained show that the number of proteins, the presence of low molecular weight proteins, the isoenzymatic esterase patterns, and peroxidase activity, provide information that enables the differentiation of healthy from affected tubers with ppt.
