COMIC VS HORRESCO REFERENS: MAUS COMO ESTUDIO DE CASO

Resumen: Maus es un documento sobre la Shoah, la crónica de un hijo que aspira a comprender a un padre traumatizado: un viaje interior que trata de unir presente y pasado, la exploración de unas circunstancias trágicas, una reflexión sobre aquellos que sobrevivieron y aquellos que murieron (los hundidos y los salvados, como diría Primo Levi) y un intento de superar el abismo generacional provocado por la edad y el dolor del superviviente. Así pues, el objetivo de este texto es ver cómo a través de las citadas obras el autor se enfrenta a este tipo de representación en un arte tan complejo y rico como es el cómic, que imbrica grafismo y textualidad; así como también observar cómo evolucionan las respuestas que Spiegelman halla a lo largo de su trayectoria creadora. Abstract: Maus is a document about the Shoah, the chronicle of a son who aspires to understand a traumatized father: an inner journey that tries to unite past and present, exploring tragic circumstances, a reflection on those who survived and those who died (the Drowned and the Saved, Primo Levi would say) and an attempt to overcome the generation gap caused by age and pain survivor. Thus, the objective of this paper is to explore how this graphic author faces this kind of representation in such a complex and rich as is the comic, which overlaps textuality graphics and art, as well as observe how the Spiegelman's answers evolve along their creative path.
