Descripción

The West Indies were invaded by humans during the last 7,000 years or so. The main reason of invading the islands was survival and reproduction, a Darwinian concept well established. Since humans are animals I propose to study these and subsequent invasions (of other Indians, Europeans and Africans) and their motives and interactions as other social animals establish themselves and fight for the resources needed for their survival.I propose the use of interdisciplinary approaches to the understanding of West Indian colonizations, in particular the use of Population Biology and Population Genetics as already being used by molecular biologist, in addition to the scarce documentation and the use of cultural objects.I also propose that there is no such a thing as autochthonous West Indian Civilizations, since all humans beings were past or present in the island are the products of migration, non-originated in the West Indies but in Africa.
