Colegio de los Padres Mercedarios (Lekeitio)

With work being planned on a site currently occupied by the Mercedarian Father’s school in Lekeitio, itwas deemed advisable to carry out an archaeological intervention in view of the belief that remains of thetown’s old walls might be found. The aim of the archaeological intervention (the excavation of largesondages) was to enable the detection of this occupational phase. However the sondages have onlylocated alterations related to more recent earth movements.
