CINE Y LITERATURA: ADAPTACIÓN LIBRE

This paper aims to provide both theoretical and practical analysis of film adaptations based on literary works. Specifically, it addresses a type of literary adaptation that involves a translation of the story to another historical and cultural context: the free adaptation. This study, in addition to covering some essential theoretical aspects, analyzes two works that exemplify the formal and thematic transpositions carried out during the adaptation process: Apocalypse Now (1979) and Blancanieves (2012).
