Descripción

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic respiratory diseases other than COPD, are associated with an important reduction in daily physical activity and psychological problems such as Anxiety and Depression by worsening of dyspnea, independent of lung function abnormality and decreased functional status. All these generate low motivation, inactivity and may also contribute to the patient's disability and poor health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Nowadays, pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is a core component of the management of symptomatic patients with chronic pulmonary disease, by breaking the vicious circle of dyspnea–decreased activity–deconditioning–isolation. Indeed the impact of comprehensive PR programs include a decrease in symptoms, and perhaps positively influence in Anxiety and Depression States. This study aimed to evaluate the change offered by Pulmonary Rehabilitation in patients diagnosed with chronic and advanced pulmonary disease in anxiety and depression states.
