Describe the Pardoner. What does Chaucer think of him?
The pardoner is a lying, cheating con artist and Chaucer didn't like him.
Describe the Knight. What does Chaucer think of him?
The knight is a very honest, worthy person and Chaucer liked him.
Describe the Wife of Bath. What does Chaucer think of her?
The wife of bath tries to act better than she really is. Chaucer liked her.

Directly describing a character.
What is indirect characterization?
Telling the reader about what the character does so they can get an idea of what kind of person the character is.

Why is it ironic that the Wife of Bath tells the story that she does?
The wife of bath tells the story she does to let the other people on the travel that she believes men and women should be equal.
