The Camden Country Women’s Association, formed in 1930, played an important role in wartime Camden between 1939 and 1945. The branch undertook a number of roles under the direction of its wartime president Mrs MS (Rita) Tucker. Mrs Tucker was a lifelong member of the CWA and its president from 1939 until her death in 1961. She was driven bycommunity service as were most of the Camden women that worked for the homefront war effort.
