CAMBIOS DE FASE POR REFLEXI´ON DE LA LUZ EN UN DIELÉCTRICO PHASE CHANGES OF LIGHT ON REFLECTION FROM A DIELECTRIC

Phase changes of an electromagnetic wave when it is reflected froma plane dielectric is determined using the Fresnel relations and thevector diagrams of E and H. Though these equations are textbookscience, their application is troublesome. Here we analyze the useof Fresnel relations to study phase changes by reflection in someof the more often used textbooks of General Physics, both in Cubaand other countries, pointing out some problems present in theiranalysis. The paper could be useful for professors of Optics andGeneral Physics.
