The Bridging the Gap program is an initiative embark upon by the Youth Empowerment Union of Trinidad and Tobago. YEUTT recognizes the importance of developing a program geared towards, the transition stages between primary school students into secondary institutions. As an organization, we have identify that most students within the republic of Trinidad and Tobago face many challenges such as bullying, peer pressure, academic stress, mental and psychical health especially upon entering secondary school. This new environment in many ways present new opportunities and experiences for young individuals such as new course materials/subjects, activities and sports events while we do acknowledge these opportunities as positive's there exist the reality of students experiencing a stage of culture shock. As such, our program seeks to assists students more knowledgeable and be better equipped for the aforementioned issues which are critical aspects in this new environment. This study’s aims are to discover students’ knowledge and understanding of what is Peer Pressure; the different types of Peer Pressure; accessing whether all Peer Pressure is bad, provide students with mechanisms and strategies to cope with peer pressure and to develop self-esteem and confidence among themselves. This research was conducted among form one students through the distribution of questionnaires to students alongside a ten minutes interview which was covertly conducted with the form one dean. In an effort to acquire purposive result both quantitative and qualitative methodology was incorporated into our study.
