The soil-available P is traditionally measured in samples of soil using different solutions. The present work describes an alternative procedure, quick and of low cost, that uses strips coated with a film of iron oxide that adsorb soil-P (BEP). Phosphorus extraction strips were made with plastic (acetate and acrylic) and metal (cylinder, flat iron plate, iron straps, and aluminum plate).
