Descripción

The archaeological excavation in the area of Roque de Las Nieves revealed the existence of an enclave characterized as an outdoor cemetery by the presence of three individuals buried in pits, associated with a series of stone buildings. Although the bad representation or conservation, the study of the skeletal remains recovered provide relevant information of those aspects related to the lifestyles of pre European population, as diet, markers of activity or pathologies. The highlight of this archeological recovery could be some of the  materials documented in this cemetery such as the stone structures associated with the pits. Especially unusual is the appearance of a small piece of  fabric woven of vegetable fibers associated with one of the individuals,  most likely as part ofthe funerary bundle of the deceased.
