APLICACIÓN DE LA TEORÍA DE RESTRICCIONES PARA DETECTAR CUELLOS DE BOTELLA EN PLANTAS METALMECÁNICAS: CASO DE APLICACIÓN – COLOMBIA

RESUMEN Este trabajo presenta la aplicación de la teoría de restricciones en combinación con estudio del trabajo para la detección de cuellos de botella en el proceso productivo de una estación de trabajo en una empresa multinacional del sector metalmecánico en Colombia, considerando tres referencias de producto. La implementación metodológica consta de dos fases principales, la identificación de las restricciones con base al análisis del estudio del trabajo y los pasos complementarios en la implementación de la teoría de restricciones desarrollada por Goldratt. Los resultados muestran para cada referencia el cálculo de tiempo estándar de producción con base a las unidades funcionales establecidas, la relación entre demanda y capacidad de producción y las unidades que presentan la restricción por alto porcentaje de ocupación del tiempo productivo. Particularmente, la unidad funcional relacionada con el ajuste de las condiciones de la materia prima es la principal restricción evidenciada. ABSTRACT This paper is a study of combinatorial methodologies with the theory of constraints and work study to detect bottlenecks in the production process of three references of a metalmechanical company workstation in Colombia. The implementation of this methodology consists of two phases; one phase is identifying the restrictions with the analysis of the study of work and the steps of the Goldratt´s theory of restrictions implementation. The results presents the standard production time based on functional units for reference, the relationship between demand and production capacity and the functional units with restriction by high occupancy uptime. In particular, the functional unit related to the adjustment of the conditions of the raw material is the main constraint evidenced.
