these ideas thoughts were going though Anton’s mind thinking about death waiting all these questions in anticipation of dying he’d read about a recent execution a murderer executed by firing squad and how does a condemned person feel knowing that his life is going to end at any moment soon in a shower of bullets aimed at his chest heart waiting now that his life is already over it’s just a matter of time minutes that become extended moments and then suddenly contracted does he want the firing squad to get the job done quickly to get it over with do it now or does the condemned want the time to be prolonged just in case something might go wrong that the execution is cancelled because of some kind of fault maybe all the guns rifles have suddenly broken jammed have  run out of bullets or there might be a last-minute reprieve something like that all these thoughts are going on thought process and this might be his last thought when the bullets hit but he probably wasn’t aware of it when it happened unconscious then dead no more life existence no more synaptic firings no more thoughts no more waiting and no more time all within seconds or less as the brain shuts down consciousness ceases and another time-line abruptly ends
