Descripción

The first part of this paper reports on thenovelties found in the roman villa of Almenarade Adaja as result of the excavation, restorationand museographic adaptation activities carriedout between 1996 and 2004. The complete planof the residential quarter, the chronology and asmall part of the associated farming facilities isstudied. Then a joint view is given to the remaininglate villae in the Duero Bassin; these are outstandingamong other hispanic villas becauseinto theirs plans the poli-absed halls appear werebeen much more ussed than the rest with an evidentattempt to imitate palatial residences. In allthese cases there where some preceeding buildings, but it is a fact that the pars urbana and speciallythe baths are either renewed or built anewin the second half of the iv century. This can beprobably related to the flourishing of some emergenteconomical activities, and finds a parallel inthe aquitane late villas.
