Descripción

During archaeological campaigns carried out at the Roman settlement of Sanisera (Es Mercadal, Spain) two necropoles were excavated between 2008 and 2014. A total of 74 tombs were excavated, which contained 406 inhumations and 250 objects of personal adornment. According to the burial ritual, the typology of the tombs and the objects found, these necropoles date back from the 5th to the 7th centuries AD. This article aims at offering an analysis of some of these objects, paying special attention to those which show a clear typological evolution, both qualitative and quantitative, with the purpose of establishing an occupation sequence for the two necropoles.
