En el siguiente artículo se aportan ocho documentos sobre doradores sevillanos de la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII. Resultan de interés por el momento en el que acometen la terminación polícroma de los retablos, justo en los años de la promulgación e inicio de la aplicación de las normas reales que pretenden sustituir la madera por otros materiales más duraderos y consecuentes con los nuevos ideales ilustrados. Todo ello lleva consigo que el oficio de dorador se extinga en la Sevilla del final del setecientos.The following article provides eight documents on sevillians gilders in the second half of the 18th century. They are of interest at the moment in which they finished the polychrome altarpieces, right in the years of enactment and start of implementation of real rules that are intended to replace the wood by other materials more durable and consistent with the new ideal enlightened. All this brings with it that the craft of gilder is extinguished in Seville at the end of the 18th century.
