Folashade Soule-Kohndou teaches Political Science and International Relations at undergraduate and graduate level at Sciences Po Paris, both in english and french and is a research associate at the Center of Sociology and Political studies (CESPO) at the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) in Benin. In 2015, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Politics and International Relations, of the London School of Economics. She is currently the academic coordinator of the joint teaching and research initiative on “Revisiting African Agency in Global Politics” co-led by the London School of Economics (prof. Chris Alden), Sciences Po Paris and the University of Cape Town (Dr. Karen Smith) . ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS •

RESEARCH POSITIONS Post-doctoral Fellowship, Africa International Affairs Programme, London School of Economics London, United Kingdom (2015) • Research the politics of negotiation tactics and strategies by west African governments while dealing with south-south cooperation flows from rising donors (supervised by Prof Chris Alden) • Analyze the relationships and processes that make up new donor-recipient relations in francophone West Africa • Conduct empirical work (collect data, lead interviews in order to provide a comparative approach) • Produce an extensive research paper and a policy brief presenting the results for the benefits of the LSE Africa International Affairs Programme and the Global South Unit Visiting PhD fellow, United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, New York New York, USA (November 2011 – February 2012) • Collected data on the different development projects set up by the (IBSA) Fund and managed by the special unit for South-South cooperation. • Led interviews with the IBSA high-level officials to get their understanding of South-South development cooperation and IBSA political concertation in the UN Security Council Visiting PhD fellow, Instituto Rio Branco (IRBr), Brasilia, Brazil (April-June 2011) • Field research internship at the diplomatic academy of Brazil for PhD fieldwork • Observed; analysed the diplomatic environment and collected data on IBSA, BRICS matters • Led interviews to understand the Brazilian perspective of southern coalition-building and the fostering of South-South cooperation through the IBSA dialogue forum • Attended high-level policy conferences organized by the institute

TEACHING, SUPERVISING AND MENTORING ACTIVITIES Folashadé has taught on courses in Political Science and International Relations among which Contemporary World Politics, Theories and Practices of International Cooperation, Africa’s strategies in International politics, Politics of International Development, and International Politics of Sustainable Development and the Environment. She provided these sessions to classes between 20 and 100 students, 2-8 hrs per week, requiring a prior-assessment of course curriculum, development of suitable resources in collaboration with lead professors, organisation and delivery of sessions and coursework. She provided research methodology, map-making skills during office hours and reviewed/graded 3 series of work assignments per student. During her post-doctoral appointments, she pursued several teaching and academic development courses at the Teaching and Learning Centre of the London School of Economics among which a 2-day intensive workshop on “Effective course design”.
