A cena artística internacional ainda perpetuadora de assimetrias de género

This study addresses the conditions of artistic production in an international context, focusing, with particular emphasis, on the gender conventions within the representational and the rules governing their institutional system. Data collection was accomplished through the compilation of indicators arising from reports that contain ratios of consecration, by gender, in institutional spaces of countries like Mexico, Germany, USA, France and Italy. Additionally resorts to feminist theory to understand art history as a discipline that legitimizes and perpetuates gender conventions. Despite some of the women's achievements in the promotion of gender equality in the artistic field, we still come across clear asymmetries: a history of art and language systems that formulate the canonization of men, as well as the implementation of policies legitimized in the main international circuit, which essentially establishes the consecration of men, although women are currently more likely to have graduated from universities. Resumo: Este estudo aborda as condições de produção artística no âmbito internacional focando, com particular ênfase, as convenções de género no âmbito representacional e as regras que regem o seu sistema institucional. A recolha de dados foi efetivada através da compilação de indicadores advindos relatórios que contêm rácios de consagração, por género, em espaços institucionais de países como o México, Alemanha, EUA, França e Itália. Adicionalmente recorre-se à teoria feminista para compreender a história da arte enquanto disciplina legitimadora e perpetuadora de convenções de género. Não obstante algumas das conquistas das mulheres pela preconização da igualdade de género no campo artístico, ainda nos deparamos com claras assimetrias: uma história da arte e sistemas de linguagem que formulam uma canonização do masculino; e, ainda, um gatekeeping no principal circuito internacional que põe em prática políticas que consagram essencialmente os homens, pese embora, atualmente, as mulheres apresentem uma maior diplomação.
