TOURISM AREA DEVELOPMENTS OF NGEBEL LAKE AT PONOROGO REGENCY USING CITY MARKETING APPROACH Name of Student NRP Departement Advisor

ABSTRACT Ponorogo Regency, East Java, has a potential tourism destination such as Ngebel Lake’s tourism area. Nowadayas, this place is still far from optimtimum development to become the main tourism destination which giving large income for Local Own Revenue. This research is finding out a strategy for developing Ngebel Lake’s tourism area by City Marketing approach. The analyze method that is used in this research are devided into descrptive analyze, for identified some factors such as strenght, weakness, opportunity, and threat; and also SWOT analyze for formulating the development strategy. Several variables which are analyzed consists of internal variable (strenght and weakness factors) and external variable (opportunity and threat factors). An alternative strategy that applied in this research is aggressive strategy (optimized the strenght for reaching up the opportunity). The strategy is including: Making motto “Ngebel Lake, The Special One of Nature Tourism” in order to build up strong image for peoples; giving an authority for the management and operational of tourism facility at Ngebel Lake to the community (intensive and disinsentive mechanism); giving easiness in operational and technical of utilities and facilities equipment of the areas (intensive and disinsentive mechanism); and the last is insentive giving in human developing and paticipating, participated local societies as tour guide, social training to manage tourism resources, hotels and restaurants management by the society self-supproting, etc. (intensive and disinsentive mechanism).
