Resumen / AbstractLos objetivos del trabajo son: describir los cambios producidos en la gestión del  Hospital Municipal de Trujillo durante el año 1894, las condiciones de contratación y funciones del personal sanitario, contratado por el Ayuntamiento, para la atención de los enfermos.Fuentes primarias.1. Legajo 802-6Se ha realizado un estudio histórico-documental durante los años 2014-2015 de los legajos depositados en el Archivo Municipal de la ciudad de Trujillo.La atención a ciudadanos, militares y transeúntes enfermos dispensada en el Hospital Municipal corrió a cargo de las Hermanas Amantes de Jesús, desde 1890 a 1894. Tras el cese de las religiosas (1,2), el Ayuntamiento, responsable del funcionamiento del mismo, se vio en la  necesidad de publicar la oferta de licitación privada de varios de los suministros del Hospital, entre ellos, el suministro de estancias y de ofertar varias plazas de profesionales sanitarios para atender a los enfermos (3).Se contrataron enfermero y enfermera,  una nodriza (4), un temporero auxiliar de enfermero (debido a la epidemia variolosa de 1894) (2), quedando descubierta la plaza de matrona-partera. Los enfermeros, bajo las órdenes del contratista de estancias, se encargarían de: la asistencia, cuidado y aseo de los enfermos; limpieza del establecimiento; entrega y recepción de la ropa del hospital (5); las funciones de demandadero de enfermos y médico titular, con el haber de una peseta y 25 céntimos diarios; la nodriza se encargaría de la lactancia de los niños de la Casa-cuna y el temporero ayudaría al enfermero en sus quehaceres.Los enfermeros contratados contaban con experiencia en el puesto y eran los responsables del  cuidado y aseo de los enfermos, ayudado puntualmente por el temporero.AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to describe the changes in the management of Trujillo Municipal Hospital during the year 1894, the hiring conditions and the functions of healthcare personnel, hired by the Municipality, in order to take care of the sick.Primary sources. 1. 1894 Minutes book; 2. File 802-6A historical documentary study of the files at the Municipal Archive of the city of Trujillo has been carried out in 2014-2015.From 1890 to 1894, healthcare provided to  citizens, military personnel and passers-by was run by the religious order “Hermanas Amantes de Jesús” (Sisters Lovers of Jesus). After the Sisters ceased their work (1,2), the municipality ,which was responsable for the Hospital, felt obliged to publish a call for a private tender for various of their supplies, among them, the hospital stays, and to offer different job positions for healthcare professionals in order to attend the sick (3).A male and a female nurse were hired, as well as a wet nurse (4) and a temporary auxiliary nurse (due to the  1894 smallpox epidemic) (2). The midwife vacancy was not filled. The nurses worked under responsibility of a manager and were in charge of the assistance, care and hygiene of the sick; hospital cleaning; hospital linen handling (5); the positions of buyer /administrative assistant and physician, who earned 1,25 pesetas per day. The wet nurse was in charge of breastfeeding the children in the orphanage and the temporary employee would assist the general nurse with her tasks.The hired nurses had experience in their job and were responsable for the care of the sick and their hygiene, occasionally being helped by the temporary auxiliary nurse.
