Resumen / Abstract1-Objetivo: trasladar a los estudiantes de enfermería los orígenes de la formación reglada de la profesión, en el contexto del Madrid de comienzos del siglo XX.2-Fuentes: Revisión bibliográfica y fuentes primarias3- Metodología: Paseo por las calles de Madrid (práctica externa de la asignatura Historia y Fundamentos)  visitando  los centros que quedan o representan a esa parte de nuestra historia.Visitaremos el monumento al Dr.  Federico Rubio y Gali para hablar de la Escuela de Santa Isabel de Hungría y la enfermera hospitalaria quirúrgica; seguiremos por el Hospital de San José y Santa Adela para hablar de la Escuela de la Cruz Roja y la enfermería militar; veremos la casa madre de las Siervas de María y hablaremos de la legalización de la profesión enfermera y la labor de la enfermera domiciliaria para concluir en el Centro de Arte Reina Sofía,  en aquellos momentos Hospital General de Madrid, hablaremos de las Hijas de la Caridad.4- Resultados: Hacer presente nuestra historia, visibilizando  los edificios que nos acogen así como los cuidados que se prestaban en ellos.5- Conclusiones: Tratamos de hacer patente la definición de historia de E H Carr: “la relación, conjunción establecida por iniciativa del historiador, entre dos planos de la humanidad: el pasado vivido por los hombres de otra  época y el presente en que se desarrolla el esfuerzo por la recuperación de aquel pasado para beneficio del actual y del hombre venidero”Abstract1- Objective: To show nursing students the origins of Nursing formal training in the context of Madrid, early twentieth century in Madrid.2-Sources: Literature review and some primary sources3- Methodology: A walk through the streets of Madrid (external practice as part of the content of the subject History and Foundations of Nursing) to visit the centers that are or represent that part of our history.We will visit Dr. Federico Rubio and Gali  monument to discuss the School of St. Elizabeth of Hungary and the role of surgical hospital nurses; we´ll continue with San Jose and Santa Adela Hospital to talk about the Red Cross School of Nursing and military nursing; we will also pay a visit to the headquarters of the Servants of Mary and we´ll talk about the legalization of the nursing profession and the work of the visiting nurses to conclude in the Art Center Reina Sofía, former General Hospital of Madrid, to finally discuss the part in history of the Daughters of Charity .4 results: To present our history, making visible the buildings that welcome us and care that arose in them.5- Conclusions: We try to make clear the definition of history of EH Carr: "the relationship,  conjunction established at the initiative of the historian, between two planes of humanity: the past lived by men of another era and  the present in which the effort to recover that past for the benefit of current and forthcoming man develops "
