Resumen / Abstract Este trabajo presenta como objetivos rendir merecido homenaje a la figura y trayectoria de Sor Paula Alzola Lizarritarrra así como a la Obra de su Orden, las Hermanas de la Caridad, en Huelva. Se parte de una metodología de investigación histórica, de índole biográfica con utilización de fuentes testimoniales -materiales y culturales-, y no testimoniales -culturales- así como de técnicas de índole cualitativa, la observación documental -prensa, publicaciones oficiales y textos bibliográficos-, biográficas y de investigación oral -entrevista, cuestionario- así como cuantitativas -estadística descriptiva y gráficas-. Los resultados más relevantes constatan que nuestra protagonista fue proclamada Superiora de la Orden en el Hospital Provincial de Huelva (1892), nombrada Hija Adoptiva de la ciudad y se perpetuó con su nombre una calle en la ciudad. Así mismo, la Obra de las Hermanas de la Caridad en Huelva está marcada por la creación y gobierno de instituciones tales como la Farmacia Municipal, la Cocina Económica o Restaurante Municipal de San Vicente de Paúl, las Escuelas de San Vicente de Paul, el Centro de Puericultura Gota de Leche y las Comunidades Margarita Naseau y Sta. Catalina. En conclusión, la figura, -persona y profesional- de Sor Paula Alzola Lizarritarrra en Huelva se constata que fue exitosa y fructífera y la Orden gozó de un gran prestigio institucional y civil, siendo prueba de ello sus numerosos reconocimientos profesionales y públicos y su arraigo en la sociedad onubense. Por tanto, el legado de las Hermanas de la Caridad en Huelva fue antaño, es ahora y será por tiempo de vital importancia en el desarrollo socio-sanitario y de valores de Huelva y sus ciudadanos. AbstractThis work has as objective to pay tribute to the figure and trajectory of Sister Paula Alzola Lizarritarrra well as the work of his order, the Sisters of Charity, in Huelva. It is part of a methodology of historical research, biographical nature with use of both material and cultural testimonial sources, not testimonial -culturales- techniques and qualitative in nature, documentary observation -press bibliográficos- publications and texts, -Entrevista biographical and oral research, as well as quantitative descriptive questionnaire- -estadística and gráficas-. The most relevant results verify that our protagonist was proclaimed Superior of the Order in the Provincial Hospital of Huelva (1892), named Adoptive Daughter of the city and was perpetuated his name a street in the city. Likewise, the work of the Sisters of Charity in Huelva is marked by the creation and government institutions such as the Municipal pharmacy, or Municipal Economic Kitchen Restaurant in San Vicente de Paul School of St. Vincent de Paul, the Centre Childcare Gota de Leche and Margarita Communities Naseau and Sta. Catalina. In conclusion, the figure -Person and professionally Sister Paula Alzola Lizarritarrra in Huelva is found that was successful and fruitful and the Order enjoyed great institutional and civil prestige, as evidenced by his numerous professional and public recognition and its roots in the Huelva society. Therefore, the legacy of the Sisters of Charity in Huelva was once, is now and will be timed vital in the socio-health development and exchange of Huelva and its citizens.
