“Viaggio in Giappone”. Contributo, in El dibujo de viaje de los arquitectos. Actas del 15 congreso international EGA.

Starting from the experience of a trip to Japan, this contribution wants to be a reflection about current image of Japanese cities, as result of two opposite trends: from a side the innovative and modernist, from the other side that one related to an ancient philosophy of space, native of the Japanese spirit. By using the travel sketches and analysing the fantastic imaginary and utopic analogies, we try to explore the mechanisms of Japanese cities and the unwritten roles. From this exploration, three kind of representations came out: the traditional city, the contemporary city and the of the future.
