This Policy Brief proposes a framework of policies to create the regulatory environment and financing mechanisms necessary to increase capital flows into the Energy Savings Companies (ESCOs) in India, in order to foster wider adoption of energy-efficiency across all sectors, with particular focus on the industrial sector. The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is amongst the largest-scale economic development projects ever undertaken by the Government of India and it includes a comprehensive range of industrial objectives, including efficient use of energy.
