MUSIC OFM PORTUGAL DATABASE “MUSIC-OFM-PORTUGAL”

Apresentação / Presentation The “Database Music OFM Portugal” (work in progress), shows the musical estate and an index of musicians who have contributed significantly to the musical activity in the Portuguese Province of the Franciscan Order. It is planned to extend this database to the Luso-Brazilian space during the colonial era. The chronological limits are purposely extended from the year 1200 until today, for music file registration of contemporary musical compositions. This project also intends to make available to researchers the images of musical manuscripts and their audio files, when existing or available. This database is the result of a collaborative agreement between the Order of Friars Minor of the Portuguese Province and CESEM (Research Center of Music Sociology and Aesthetics of FCSH-UNL (Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, New University of Lisbon), directed by Manuel Pedro Ferreira.
