LOS DINARES BILINGÜES DE AL-ANDALUS Y EL MAGREB

Abstract.- This paper analyzes the bilingual dinars struck in the Maghreb and al-Andalus. The comparative study of their typologies and their contextualization within Umayyad oriental coins makes some general valuations possible, as well as the formulation of new hypotheses about the symbolism of the star, which is characteristic of the first issues of al-Andalus. Furthermore, the relation between the al-Andalus’ bilingual dinars and the capital status of Córdoba will also be examined.  Resumen.- En el presente artículo se analizan las emisiones de dinares bilingües tanto del Magreb como de al-Andalus. El estudio comparativo de sus tipologías y su contextualización con la moneda omeya oriental permite realizar una serie de valoraciones generales y plantear hipótesis novedosas sobre la simbología de la estrella, característica de las primeras emisiones andalusíes. Asimismo, se valorará la relación entre el dinar bilingüe andalusí y la capitalidad de Córdoba. Abstract This paper analyzes the bilingual dinars struck in the Maghreb and al-Andalus.
