Torrente Ballester is one of the main authors in the narrative written in Spanish. He wrote several essays on the art of storytelling, in which he figured out the components of other novels, as in El Quijote como juego, Cotufas en el golfo and some speeches and newspaper articles; and he explained his own writing process, as in Diario de un vate vago. On the other hand, he wrote novels and narrative texts where he completes his inquiries on the writing process; in those stories, there are writers in the act of telling.
