Judgment visual expression using semi-transparent ceramics

Abstract

Given the holy Quran verses on the resurrection day and also the necessity of lasting translation of quran and Islamic deep meanings into artistic forms as one of the most effective ways to describe the Islamic thoughts, we intended to perform and in fact actualize the resurrection day conceptually and symbolically using light features of translucent ceramics. In achieving this, it was intended not only to localize the knowledge of producing bone China shells and to practically apply it in producing artistic manufactures, but also to reach a new understanding of religious concepts via these materials that in turn leads to taking some steps in improving it. Besides, to do these objectives, it was attempted to improve some materials used in producing the soft porcelain especially bone china, like decreasing the light refraction index, the light attraction capability, reflection strength, and increasing the light passing power, to be able to make good quality translucent shells with the capability of passing light maximally.
